Waterside Ecology

Independent Ecological Consultancy

Protected Species

We provide a range of services relating to the ecology and conservation of rare or protected species in freshwater and riparian habitats, particularly otters, lamprey and freshwater pearl mussel. Insensitive management of rivers and streamside habitats may damage these and other species of conservation interest, such as water voles. With our background in conservation management we can advise on and implement the monitoring and survey required to underpin habitat and species management.

Waterside Ecology offers:

• Otter, lamprey and freshwater pearl mussel

...surveys

• Conservation planning and mitigation advice

...for above species

• Data provision and interpretation

...e.g. for Environmental Impact Assessment
